Macon Mosquito Abatement District

We are a local government agency formed under the Mosquito Abatement Act of the State of Illinois. The Macon Mosquito Abatement District is a property-tax supported special district formed to suppress populations of mosquitoes and decrease the probability of mosquito-borne illness.

Our program implements routine surveillance and larvicide control of mosquito sources, supported by historical data and ongoing inspection of the District. Pre-treatment and post-treatment inspections are conducted to assess the control provided by the biorational larvicides (or biologically specific larvicides) are used.
